Stubbornness

I think it's safe to say that, I'm stubborn. I admit it. I'm Irish, Scottish, and German all rolled up into me. I'm very confident in myself and my judgement. But, sometimes that stubbornness can get you into trouble. My knee, for example. I injured it years and years ago. My Meniscus. This past week, I re injured it. Instead of taking it easy like I was told, I continued karate. It didn't hurt bad enough for me not to continue doing things I love. Saturday, it was swollen and very sore. I had to excuse myself from class. Instead of going home, I went to the tournament. Where after my team Kata's, I should have bowed out. I continued competing. Sunday I couldn't move it. It was locked up and took ice and Ibuprofen to get it moving enough to walk on it to go to the Urgent Care. The X-Ray there showed my Meniscus was thinning and my bone wasn't shaped correctly. Lots of inflammation in the joints, which was the start of arthritis. No fluid which was good. So, it was wrapped and I was put on crutches until I see the Orthopedist. I left the Urgent Care and stopped off by the house and grabbed my crutches, and listened. I have had it propped up and iced since then. There has to be a point in your life when you listen to others and not yourself. Sometimes other people do know what's best for you.
